PT Kirana Musi Persada - Agricultural Commodity Export In South Sumatra

At the end of 2021, the Province of South Sumatra (Sumsel) launched an event of releasing 16.61 tons of agricultural export commodities with a value of Rp. 244.4 billion destined to various countries.  The Sumsel Governor, Herman Deru, said that the export reflected the commitment of the Provincial Government to raise the export target of agricultural commodities by 300 percent that would ultimately lead to the improvement of the people’s economy.  "This export launching at the end of this year shows our determination to increase our exports by threefold. Export of agricultural commodities is one of our mainstays to improve the welfare of the farmers," remarked Pak Herman Deru, on Thursday (30/12).

The launching of simultaneous export commodities was held on December 30, 2021 in Palembang City,  an event wrapped under the 2021 Export Festival.  The Festival was attended by corporate leaders in the South Sumatra Province, including that of PT Kirana Musi Persada, a subsidiary of the Kirana Megatara Group whose line of business is in the crumb rubber industry.

As expressed by Mr. Kurniawan, Director of PT Kirana Musi Persada, “The company is very supportive of this government program, which is very beneficial.  If this can be worked out, I am optimistic that the prosperity of the people will increase.  The richness of our natural resources has not been optimally exploited as the poverty rate in South Sumatra is still high. The role of local governments in utilizing their budgets for the sake of the people’s welfare is very important.  Including, increasing the innovative capacity to create product diversification of export commodities, through the expansion of the downstream industries,  especially for the rubber-based products."
