Socialization of matching NIK to NPWP for employees at PT Kirana Musi Persada
PT Kirana Musi Persada has carried out socialization for KMP employees on October 25 and 28, 2023. Matching NIK and NPWP data ensures that tax rights and obligations are processed using only one identity number, namely NIK, eliminating the need to remember many identity numbers. Since July 14, 2022, individual taxpayers who are residents have used NIK as their NPWP, and this new regulation also applies to those who already have a NPWP in the previous 15-digit format. Validation of the Population Identification Number (NIK) as a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) provides various significant benefits for the community, especially in simplifying administrative services. The Director General of Taxes, Suryo Utomo, encouraged the public to immediately validate the NIK on their Resident Identity Card (KTP) as NPWP before reporting the Annual Tax Return (SPT). This step is in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 7 of 2021, with its derivative regulations in Presidential Regulation Number 83 of 2021 and Minister of Finance Regulation Number 112/PMK.03/2022. Starting January 1, 2024, all tax administration services and other administration services that require NPWP will use the new format, NIK or NPWP. Validation of NIK as NPWP aims to optimize integration to overcome tax avoidance practices and increase tax revenues.
